Question: Is it
possible to raise the dead, and if this is so, how could it be done? |
Why do I ask?
|
I had an incredibly morbid teacher when I was in high school. He used to
read these amazing stories to the class. I believe he used these stories
in order to get our attention, and one in particular sticks in my mind. |
There was a mausoleum that housed some 50 or so caskets. The building
had been sealed up for several years, possibly even decades. When someone
finally went inside the building there was a horrific sight to greet them.
The caskets were strewn about the place in complete disarray. In fact,
some were on end and standing upright, others had fallen down, skewed
from their impact on other tombs below. |
When the caskets were opened to discover what might have possibly happened,
it was found that many of the inhabitants had worn down their fingernails
clawing at the lid trying to get out. Evidence was also found that some
had experienced their final death to be in a state of suffocation, their
bodies straining for their next fleeting breath.
|
It is evidently possible that even though the body can appear as dead
that on occasion, the animating life force
is still at work, else the above experience would not have happened.
When Christ was on the earth I understand that He instructed His disciples
to perform all types of wonders including raising the dead. |
How could this be? What miracle did the disciples understand that would
actually accomplish this feat? Is it showing sound judgment to wonder if
the force that was left in the hands of these men . . . is still on
this earth? |
Ask the inhabitants of the mausoleum. Imagine what
it must have been like to be in their place. Consider the possibility of a
loved one's life being cut short, simply because society does not
understand the difference between life . . .
and death. |
